Rear Driveshaft Noise, Rear flange pooched

Post by Pokey »

L300 P35W

Had a vibe that got worse quickly to OMG bad, but made it home. On power or decel, but none at neutral throttle.

In replacing the Rear Driveshaft U-joints and the aft Driveshaft coupling is knackered! Looking for Part number? It appears to be part of the whole Drivehaft Assembly in the manual.... aarg. Anyone have one, or know what the part number is? A whole used driveshaft would work but it seems a shame.

Thanks, I am stuck on my motorcycle till I fix it..... rain

Contact one of the JDM vendors in BC who have a collection of used parts.

A few that come to mind are:
Rising Sun Imports (Richmond)
Amazing Auto (Richmond)
Combs County (Vancouver Island)

OR you can take the whole drive shaft to a rebuild shop and have them get (or make) a flange for you.

If they look at Dodge/Ram D50 pickup as a starting point they might be able to get a part from their stock.

I think the Mitsubishi made Dodge Challengers/Plymouth Sapporo from the late 70's through early 80's uses the same flange as the L300.
Yeah I joined the Dark Side because the medical plan is top shelf!

Steven at Rising Sun contacted me that they had a used drive-shaft in stock and quoted me a fair price. When I got down there he split the shaft and sold me the one half at a reduced price. I didn't ask him to do that, and he was not obligated to.

30 minutes later Pokey is back in action. Thanks Steven!! :-D

PS- she is much quieter now, but the lumbar massage feature is gone.
