Bumped from registering on UK Delica website

Post by Erich »

For some reason, I have been banned from registering on the Delica UK website. I promise, I am a good person, but can't even find an admin link. Any suggestions? Do I have to apologize for throwing tea into Boston Harbor?

That would be a good start :-D

I've messaged one of the mods there to draw his attention to this post. Hopefully he can help.

That is probably because of the poor performance of your hockey teams at the last olympics :o
In any case, you can get another email adress anywhaere and used it there.

Surely by now you know that you pour the water over the tea and not put the tea into the water....

Could be that they don't realise that the Americans are getting Delicas now and think that you are a spammer. I know if I see a "country" (such as: USA or Abu Dhabi or Congo, &c.) in the location field I check into the prospective member's location ~ often they are from Russia or Pakistan, &c.. It's truly amazing the amount of times I've seen:
  • Vehicle: BMW (or "car")
    Location: USA

Fairly often I've seen "Delica"/ "Canada" and the post is from Chennai in India or elsewhere. What did you list your vehicle and location as?

Another favourite of mine is:
  • Vehicle: qpqpqpqp
    Location: mtmtmtmtmt

I think we (at the time) got over the Boston Tea Party when we (again at the time) burned the White House down....

Which UK club are you trying to join? I asked one of the mods at MDOCUK and he says there's no record of anyone being blocked?

It was MDOUK and I just tried to register again. It says my email address has been banned. <evolkstorf@earthlink.net> is my correct email. I have no idea why it has been banned.

Hi Erich,

Turns out the problem may be with your email address. Admin may have put a global block on all .net domain names as these are where most of the spamming to hit the site comes from in the U.S. It's being looked at, but if you have a different email which you could use (hotmail etc) then there shouldn't be a problem.

Hi Erich, I can assure you, you haven't been banned from MDOCUK! I'm sure this is probably just a glitch with ban control on your email address, although I have taken a look and I cannot find your email address on the ban list! If it is possible for you to try another email address then try that. If you still have trouble PM me and I will try and sort it for you. I can assure you of a warm welcome at MDOCUK if we can resolve these issues...

Piers Morgan probably got bumped for his comment on American Football (it's girly). I never really put much stock into CNN, and they do have an history of dumping really good journalists (although I'm not aware of how good Morgan is). I remember in 2003 when Peter Arnett got the sack and was immediately picked up by the BBC. In 2012 Amber Lyon got turfed for uncovering the torture and murder of protesters in Bahrain, due to pressure from the Bahrainis. Pravda probably has more accurate journalism than CNN.

The way you listed your location and vehicle could not be confused for a spammer, I'd read the profile and stop there. I wouldn't even check the IP. Having said that ~ a spammer joined DC yesterday listing a Pajero Sport, from Indonesia and I took that at face value. Then they posted an ad for kitchens. C'est la vie, I guess.

P25Ws rock, by the way. 8-)
