I uploaded files to a photo album I created, but the 12 photos don't appear to be linked to the actual album.
Sometimes I see them, like on the page to sort images inside albums, but when I go to the page showing my albums, it claims my album has zero photos in it.
I must have not figured out yet how to link properly the images inside the album with the actual album.
I was never able to get this feature to work myself. Often when I see photos at the bottom of the page, when I click on them I get a message that they cannot be found. :/
There have to be some tutorials out there for a PHPBB based photo album...
I actually haven't seen the van yet, Mardy assured me he plans to put it on a train sometime this week.
I am eager to see it myself... and drive it, but it takes about 2 weeks to travel from BC to NS.
I just loaded a picture of an exploded diagram for the L300 aerial. First I clicked on the |Photos| button. In the top bar of my browser is "Upload file", next to "Logout [FalcoColumbarius]", I clicked on "Upload file". First thing I did then was select the album that I wanted the picture to go to, so I scrolled through the drop-down menu until I got to which one of my albums I wanted and selected that. Now it read: <Album Falco's Photo Dump> (it's a misc. album). Next I clicked on the "Browse..." button (has a little magnifying glass on it). Up came my desktop window and I looked for my "Delica Tech" folder, found an appropriate picture that I could load up into my photo dump and selected that, clicked on the "save" button and loaded it up. I now had one image in the upload queue. At this point I could load more but in this case I only wanted one, so I clicked on "continue". At this point I could give it a title and a description... or not. Clicked on "Apply Changes", budda bing, budda boom, Robert's your uncle, Fanny's your aunt ~ I go to my "Falco's Photo Dump" album and there they are, the exploded diagram and a picture of an old bus.

I just followed your instructions using firefox this time instead of chromium.
the picture did load into my "arrived" album, when I click on Sort my pictures it's listed 13th of 13. It's a duplicate now of #01 which I uploaded earlier.
Now if I go to the album itself, it still says zero pictures. All I have to do to see that count is click on "My gallery" at the top of the page. I see:
arrived (underlined, it's a link to the album)

I tried the same thing again in chrome but noticed this message:
"Your file was uploaded successfully.
It will be visible after admin approval. "
I didn't notice that before; could it be that the files are there, they just haven't been approved?
it's strange that I can click on Sort my pictures and I see thirteen pictures listed, they have all been uploaded to the server.
But when I go to the album, there's nothing in it.
I must have forgotten to do something.
I guess I could try Safari (I'm on a Mac), and IE tomorrow just to see if I see a difference.
In chrome by the way there is no browse magnifying glass, just a button which says Choose File
I did see the magnifying glass in Firefox.
Using Safari on a Mac, I just created a new album called Odyssey, uploaded three pictures, 1 of the @#% plough which crashed into the 2007 Odyssey which had become stuck in 4" of snow in my driveway, and two showing my van which was a write-off.
Same thing: I can see the pictures to sort them, they have been uploaded successfully, but the new album says the same thing as the old one: zero pictures.
Falco: I loaded a photo last week into my album and I got a system message that said my photo had to be approved by an admin before I can see it. All I have a view of is the thumbnail list. I can open 4 of the 5 pics only.
Yeah I joined the Dark Side because the medical plan is top shelf!
Hmm... That's probably because you guys drive Space Gears, eh?
I'll take a look into the admin approval area. I've not received any notice. Recently RobbieG reconfigured the Photo Gallery because one day, when we updated the site, all these lines of code started appearing on the page. Perhaps in his adjustments something might have happened (what he did was not easy, at least not for Mark and I).
Falco.
P.S.: Okay, I found it and approved a whole whack of pix, not only from you guys, but from Vstrom, Doorgod, Bosc and others. I was wondering why no one had posted anything after we had done all that work!. Evidently there is a bug in the system. Thanks for your notifications, now we know about it. I'll post a thread on this in the secret Moderator's Forum.

I work in IT (Oracle DBA and Fusion 11g admin), I know sometimes one problem gets fixed but then it has a ripple effect on other things.
Much of the software out there is so complex and intricate now that sometimes even the original writers / vendors don't have a clear overview anymore of how all the parts work together. I know that's certainly the case with Oracle and Microsoft now. And they keep changing things! (If things run smoothly for years, they don't make any money, so they have to buy out those competitors or find a way to make the stable systems "obsolete").
I work in IT... ... or find a way to make the stable systems "obsolete").

I work in it, too... sometimes up to my knees! In reality I'm just a simple guy, a painter by trade and most definitely a "digital immigrant", as it were. One thing I have noticed over the last ten years is the gradual erosion of the language, for one. Also the less options there are on the internet, at least on the surface level where digital immigrants like myself tend to find ourselves. After the eleventh of September, in '01 the internet was ablaze with political discussion. When I first joined this site: I could type "Delica" into the Google search engine and pull up all sorts of nuggets from all over the world. Now the first page is all Delica Canada, because I live in Canada there should be no reason for me to access anything from outside of Canada....
smiles.... now I'm on a tangent. By the way, I've heard from Robbieg and he is looking into Coppermine Photo Gallery issue (he understands that language). The cool thing about this site is the amount of diversity brought together by these wagons. I've met some really cool people through this site ~ and it keeps getting bigger. Right on!
