So my horn died the other day, no surprise as only one has worked for awhile and the connections were about to fall off on the second one as well.
The day it finally stopped working I went and bought a set of FIAMM low tones and wired them up today. I turn the van on and HOOOONNNNNNKKKKK, they're stuck on!! Now, I didn't wire in the supplied relay because I figured they would be plug and play on a car instead of the smaller wiring from a bike.
I've read the threads on here regarding the stuck horn buttons which I will check but I figured I would see if anyone else had this problem when wiring in their aftermarket horns. Thanks!

Re: Replacement horns stuck on?
Isnt the horn active with the ignition off? In which case its not the horn button. Must be some wiring weirdness on the new ones. Maybe....

Re: Replacement horns stuck on?
On my mini truck the horn had power all the time, you complete the circuit to ground when you hit the horn on the steering wheel. that could be your problem. Try isolating the horn ( do not solid mount ) and turn power on again. I had to rubber mount a NA suburban horn to get it to work right. Did the trick for the mini. Hope this helps

This sounds like it could be the problem! As soon as I turn the key from "off" it starts blaring. I'll try this out when it stops raining.Tinytoy wrote:On my mini truck the horn had power all the time, you complete the circuit to ground when you hit the horn on the steering wheel. that could be your problem. Easy check. Look at your old horns. If they are mounted onto the stand with a rubber grommet, they had power all the time, if mounted steel on steel than power was sent to it. Have fun! Always something sneaky on these!

I figured it out! So the ground attaches to a little piece that you have to bolt on to the horn. That bolt also holds the bracket to the body. Hence, it's constantly grounded to the body. So, I juts need to isolate the horn and it should work marvellously.
