Remote start in L400
Is this possible? Has anyone had this installed in their van? It seems like this would be a nice way to ensure that the van gets properly warmed up in the morning, as I could start it from the comfort of my apartment!

Yup. Have an autostart model in mine. Had visions install it last fall when my remote lock started to go on the fritz. I love it. I looked up a bunch of info for the electronics in case the technician needed it. I didn't install an alarm. Remote start and doors

Nice! And did the mechanic ask for any information, or were they able to install without any issues?
Which Visions? Vancouver area?

Re: Remote start in L400
I did a prostart (Canadian tire special) in my van by my self.
It wasn't hard, it was just long. The issues I ran into were:
I couldn't find space for the box under the dash. I ended up mounting it under the driver's seat, which meant that I had to extend all 15 necessary wires. I am now a master of the soldered Western Union splice.
My glow plug delay is not working. The starter has a provision to hold the crank until the glow plug light goes out, as well as a programmable delay (7-10-15 seconds). Mine cranks after the programmed delay regardless. It hasn't been a big issue, even in minus 35, but my van has always been a good starter.

How much did it set you back? What was the product name and model number?
I just brought a l400 Super Exceed diesel and would like to add remote start. And since it has electric locks but no phob it'd be nice to get that too.
For some reason the key only opens the drivers door and which then opens all the other doors. I don't know, is that normal?
Thanks!
