This past summer my whole camping scenario changed.
Rather than stuffing myself into the van with a air mattress
Im going more stealthy bushwise with hammocks.
My back surgery last November had made sleeping on crappy
surfaces, tenting and van camping a problem. Not any more.
Anyone else into hammocks?
Everything you see here I made :)

A good friend of mine hammocked for weeks at a time over the many years. Like you he insulated the underside of his hammock for warmth.
I tried it and found it excellent for light weight multi night campouts and hunting trips to the gulf islands in my small boat. It's preferable to tenting with an air mattress or ground mat, many times there's no space for a tent.
Is your tshirt about the Hurley Pass in B.C.

My shirt is just one of those silly Hurley shirts advertising a brand. The do clothing hats and bathing suits ;)
It's one of my light get dirty shirts.

Wow! That looks like a great setup!
How do you insulate a hammock btw?
I'd love to camp out in such a lightweight solution, unfortunately i just can't sleep in a hammock, after a while i always get cramps and so on...
Cheers Will

Insulation for hammocks : under quilts. Different layers for different temps. In the summer though you can just use a sleeping bag. They are awesome in heat waves. The air floating under the hammock keeps you cool.
What type of hammock were you in? I make 11' ones and you lay on a diagonal. Almost flat
Never in a banana shape
I sleep on my back, side/ fetal. Very comfy.

Re: Delica Camping... and now Hammocking
I have been getting away from van camping the last few summers.
I've been looking for an 8'x8' tarp in canvas for just this reason.
I prefer a design with 'loops' instead of 'grommet' attachments.
anyone have any ideas where I can find one?

I'm not sure about sourcing canvas. Any particular reason for it? I'm in to making my own silnylon tarps.

I want a canvas tarp that will last a long time.
my last silnylon tarp lasted me only a few summers.
