Has anyone bought from JPCTrade.com

Post by pham »

I'm new to this great site.
I'm looking at one of the auction houses, JPCTrade.com, to get me a Delica S Exceed D-TB P35W (hopefully).
Any feedback regarding their performance or ethics would be most usefull.
They are straight forward regarding their fee structure:

http://jpctrade.com/howtobuy/agencyfee.html

Step 3: Bidding
Step 4: Extra Charges
- Bidding Charges
- Car Document Postage
- Transport Fee
- Additional Storage Fee
- Ocean Freight
- Marine Insurance

Fee example:
Car price: JPY 300,000
Agent fee: JPY 85,000
Bidding charge: JPY 1,000/per bid
Pre inspection fee: JPY 2,500/per inspection
Transportation fee: JPY 10,000
Marine insurance: JPY 6,000
Ocean freight JPY: JPY 160600 (Vancouver)
Total FOB Vancouver: USD 5300 (JPY 565100)

If our comminity gives them a "clean bill of health" and fee structure seems fair ... I'll give them a go!

Thanking for your input ahead of time.

PS: I have a guy on this side of the pond thats going to help me with the extra details.

Pham,

Ask them if they have ever sent a vehicle to Canad before. If not you will end up waiting for a very long time for RORO and not only that, you may have to bring them up to speed on what documents are needed for Canada. I used a large company that didn't have the slightest idea how to send a car to Canada and I payed them for what? I had to teach them everything. I only say this because I checked the link you gave us and I can only see testomonies from other countries. I hope this helps.

Definetly ask for references of vehicles, and Delicas sold to Canada.

I used Mac Trading and they were awsome. Small company, so they didn't have access (at least not to do an easy inspction) to every auction house, but they weeded out some Delicas that looked good on paper but had problems, or looked like they would potentially be problematic. Like don't bid on anything from Hokaido....as that is "snow country, lots of rust".

Unlike some other companies they did not ask for a deposit in their first reply and they were very good at helping me determine just how much I would have to spend to get what I wanted.... where as I had other companies ready to ship me supposedly what I wanted within a day or two. Lots of Delicas go for 100000 yen, but the good ones are 300-400000 yen now.

I think their rate was very reasonable also.

A+++ service, highly recommended if you have the time and patience to do it yourself. I started looking seriously in October and I'm having mine inspected (and on the road) tommorrow.

you better buy it here locally, as you can see the car no need to wait for long time for your delica.
cannot save that much money if it turn out having problem with your delica. all this delica need to be service, if not it do brokedown.
by the time you finish it, it will be the same & you cannot get any warrantty if you import .
there is so many delica around to choose.
its just your choice if you want to wait for long & having that risk in buying this delica. ro-ro very hard to get space, but container its easy to book but expensive.
hope this help: cheers;
