235/75R15 vs 30/9.5R15

Post by delicat »

Keeping it simple, any pros and cons between the two sizes?

These tires would be mostly used in Vancouver area :-( so unfortunately not enough off-roading so I might go with the Michelin LTX M/S has they are on sale until Feb 2nd for about $530 all included (tx and install but in Bellingham) or $106 without install. If and when I want to go off-roading then I have other tires in mind...tall, narrow and mean looking! :-D

Thanks,

Hey

My friend has the larger 30/9.5R 15 and they are sometimes rubbing in the wheel wells. I am nit sure if he needs to adjust the torchen bar or what. I run the 235's and they work very well for me indeed.

I'd be very curious to know if his torsion bars were raised or not or if anyone else have the 30/9.5R15 installed without problems. I've read post saying they should fit but haven't read one that confirms it (without any mods aside from torsion bars).

I'll most probably buy these tires tomorrow (Saturday at the latest) so any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

30X9.50X15 when you lift it up , just little hitting the mud flap.
i have a friend who has delica & i did the torsion bar lift on it it looks fine, just bigger tire good handling lttle bit heavy but its also good.
try to get yokohama geolander ATS, not ATS 2. Lt tire is better & cheaper in states. here its expensive.
i have 30.5X9.50X15 used only 2,500 kms on it, uni-royal brand if you want it. buy it brand new. call me if you like 604-720-6144
cheers:

I've got a set of 235/75R15 BF Goodrich Radial All Terrain TA's and my suspension is set to factory specs and I have about 1 1/2" between the tires and mud flap. I like how they look on my van. Aggressive, but without any modifications.

Good information!

I have thought of trying a set of 31" tires but decided they're too big.

I have the front lifted 2" and was wondering if anyone running the 30" tires
Without any rubbing issues has an automatic with the metal rad guard/step things.

If 30" tires would allow full turning with those metal steps on I'd be happy :)
Walking gingerly across the bruised earth.

My 1990 L300 was able to run 30" Cooper AT3
tires. I didn't have to crank anything up.

I did notice that in mud or when you get ice build up
they would rub quicker. Just had to be on the ball
for kicking the stuff off.
