exhaust gasket?

Mitsubishi Delica L400 production commenced in 1994 -- After much anticipation, the L400 arrived on Canadian Soil in 2009!

exhaust gasket?

Post by Krazyistkarl »

I'm going to toy around with adding washer to my wastegate actuator, putting in a new air filter, and I'd like to see how it breaths and sounds with the muffler deleted. It looks like there is a gasket between the exhaust flanges, what would this be made of? Re usable? Easily replaced? I'm already most likely going to have to touch the bolts off as theyre considerably rusted, but have soaking with penetrating oil for a week while I've been up at work

Update. I went ahead and split the exhaust, there is a gasket, looks like I can remember use it. Between shimming the wastegate actuator and opening the exhaust the van pulls nicer through every gear, more passing power and revs a tiny bit lower at highway speeds. Sounds like complete garbage however. Any suggestions on a high flow muffler?

Update 2.i do not suggest disconnecting the exhaust before the muffler. On a complete unrelated note, does anyone have a rear HVAC unit that isn't melted by hot diesel exhaust that they want to get rid of?

Hahaha that was a thoroughly entertaining read. The baffle I have is a magna flow 2.5" straight through and it sounds great! About 12" long I believe.
