ECS suspension confusion

Mitsubishi Delica L400 production commenced in 1994 -- After much anticipation, the L400 arrived on Canadian Soil in 2009!

ECS suspension confusion

Post by stever1000 »

I was under the rear of my Delica checking the diff fluid level and I thought I would check out my shocks since they are in need of being replaced.

I saw that my shocks were indeed the ECS type:

BUT Much to my surprise I don't have an ECS button in my dash.

All the wires are there on the shocks, but I have a blank plate where the button should be in the dash.

Why would my Delica come with ECS set up, but not have the button to use it?

well I have the ECS button but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Probably the owner put in non-ECS shocks.

These are used vehicles, you never know what the previous owner(s) did with/to them.

I found evidence that something had been glued to the side of the centre console, found plugs under the driver's seat that don't connect to anything.

You may be able to buy a replacement ECS button online or from your Delica service shop. Hooking it up to work might be interesting, depending on what the previous owner did.

I would be interested in buying a button just to see if it still works or not :-D
