Leaking oil filler cap

Post by macro »

I'm sure I've seen someone mention an easy fix for a slightly leaky filler cap. Falco perhaps? It's more messy than a detriment right now. Any option other than to replace it?

Yes! It was I. Maybe Nxski. Either way, when you look at the inside of the cap you see (or should see) a flat rubber seal. what I experienced was this seal had, over the years, worn some ~ so what I did was slip a rubber "O" ring underneath it, which bolsters the seal. Easy peasy. It's the same thought procedure as sticking the plastic coffee stir sticks into your horn assembly.

Falco.
