Have any of you ever seen anything like this before? I was greasing Delly, and I wanted to get at the 3 points in the front by either wheel, and I thought, 'Hey, what a perfect opportunity to take the wheels off, just so I've done it once without the pressure of having a flat in the middle of nowhere!' Well, when I did, I found this. I have no tool to take this one lug nut off, and it appears to be a pentagon?!?!? Each of the four wheels has one. Is this normal? I know they're aftermarket wheels, but shouldn't they at least use normal lug nuts?

Those would be locking nuts to deter thieves from stealing your rims. If you don't have the key socket I'd be inclined to replace them with new locking nuts that you do have the key socket for so you're not in the middle of nowhere with a flat in the middle of the night in a rain storm swearing your head off.

To get them off, try vice grips.

Falco.

Thanks, Falco! I thought it was too conspicuous that each wheel had one - couldn't have been a coincidence. They look like a real pain in the butt to get off, but then, I suppose that's the idea. Oh well, lots of cursing tomorrow, I guess...
