Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

L300 Fuel tank leaking intermittently

Post by almac »

Hello all,
came outta the grocer yesterday to find a huge diesel stain under the rear of my van. I checked and it smelled like diesel. drove her home and put a sheet of cardboard under her. the next morning the sheet was SOAKED in diesel.

today I drove her to town and nothing. no stains at all.

anyone have any ideas what I should be looking for before I start to tear things apart back there?
Roads!? Who the hell needs roads!?,

Sounds like the leak is about halfway up one of the tanks. I'm guessing a fuel sender, or maybe the filler pipe, but you'll find out when you look. The fuel tanks are not difficult to see.
Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

happened to me, just like that. was the tubes atop the tank. you need a replacement tank from a wreck.
