Hey guys,
On my 89 Delica the drivers side seat belt latch is a major pain the ass. It has progressivly gotten worse over the almost two years I have owned the van. It will not latch sometimes, and I have to fight with it for a few minutes before it will do so. I don't feel comfortable not wearing the belt so I always make sure it is latched. Have you guys experienced this problem? If so what is the fix? I tried searching, but with the new forum software it doesn't seem to be the same as it used to. I have had zero luck finding anything with the search on this site since the move.

Re: Seat belt latch issues
It's a known issue with worn seat belt buckles in Mitsubishis (and presumably other cars that use the same seat belt mechanism). Usually the first sign is that the buckle *appears* to latch, but pops out when you move.
Most people replace the buckle when it starts doing this. The buckles are not designed to be dismantled. Mine does it occasionally, so one day I might see if I can devise a fix- but not before I have a spare buckle to install if it all goes wrong!

Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

Where can one buy a replacement that isn't just as old, and presumably worn out?

Hi Chris ! If you do not find any ovehere, I know Craig has got an L300 Delica Van to part out
BTW:1) I have NOT been able to find that plate holding the Lower Fog Lights Brackets: can you just take some simple sizing measurements (width X height X tthicknee) so that I custom made one out of plexiglass or whathever. 2) I did bought a LSD diff before getting my Van and found there was alreday one in it
If you have interest, keep in touch

Re: Seat belt latch issues
Perhaps switch it with a rear buckle and let your less frequent than you passengers figure it out.
