Hi, this site seems like a great resource! My wife and I just picked up this 92 Delica with 55000k (apparently, I am a little suspicious). Anyway, lots of questions coming, see ya in there!

Re: Hi, new star exceed owner
Congratulations and welcome to the club.
Who did you get your ride from? At 55000km, what kind of shape was it in? What colour is it: dark grey over silver or dark green over silver? Looks nice, either colour.
Oh yes, and where are you located? Down here in Victoria? We're having a get together on Saturday, if you can make it.

Are you located on the North Shore? Thought I saw your van today. Mine is the same colour but with chrome bar.

We're in Anmore near Port Moody, though we're planning on moving to Victoria in the next few months. Let me know if you know of any nice houses! It's a dark grey, seems to be in nice shape, motor seems very smooth, and body is great. When should the first timing belt change be done assuming this is the right mileage?
Cheers

Timing belts and the whole "kit" that goes along with that should be done 80-100 k km or once every 5 yrs. That is, it would be a good idea to have them done soon as they are most likely original. For all if you who by Dellis you can have your odometer certified for a small cost in Japan. It helps to eliminate a lot of guessing.

Congrats on your new ride!
For your timing belt, check this post:
http://www.delica.ca/forum/timing-belts ... -1809.html
You can choose to drive it and hope for the best or you can get all the work done (not only belts but fluids, bushings...) before and avoiding complications along with having a better running vehicle... That'd be my choice by far!
Enjoy!

Re: Hi, new star exceed owner
why are you suspicious of 55000km? that's quite reasonable. keep in mind that driving in Japan is nothing like driving in north america they have nowhere to go!
Re: Hi, new star exceed owner
often on ones with rolled back odometers you will find they have an aftermarket steering wheel and excessive wear on the pedals for their' mileage.
