Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Dobinsons HD Torsion Bars

Post by lrp374 »

I have got a quote from Dobinsons to get a pair of HD torsion bars. The quote seems fairly reasonable but I'm wondering what if any costs I should expect to import them into Canada. I'm sure several people have ordered stuff from Australia and I presume most things related to Delica parts or accessories would have the same duty or whatever they want to call it. Any info would help me get underway with the order.

Thanks
Larry

Well I now have my torsion bars and they go on next week. The import duty was only 6% which didn't add much to the cost compared to PST and GST. I have also ordered a few parts from Amayama and PartSouq. This was interesting as the PartSouq items were sent via DHL and I paid all 3 taxes while the Amayama items were sent via their post office and came to my house with no additional cost. This could save a few bucks if you ordered a lot. This has also happened for items shipped from the USA via USPS. Is this typical?

I'm interested in how you like these Dobinsons T-bars. I've thought about doing the same thing (ordering from Aust.) and was wondering if it was worth it.

Had mine for over year now and coupled with CCautos raised coils they make a good pair. Still slightly soft but the best I could find, they handle the heavy loads I carry on an L400 2" raised body.

I've only had the new bars on for about a month and only done highway driving so it's to early to tell. I have noticed a lot less bounce on railway tracks and potholes and the suspension doesn't "bottom out" in circumstances it used to. So far I'm happy -- next spring will be the test. Dobinsons are great to deal with and the difference in your dollar will make them cheap!!
