ok so my forward fuel tank has been leaki g a bit of diesel. ive looked through a lot of the threds but have a question. the leak has progressively gotten a little worse. doing an oil change tonite i finally had the chance to have a ckoser look. from what i could see it looks like the fuel line that send the fuel from the forward tank to the after tank runs down the outter edge of the forward tank. the felx line then clamps onto a small solid piece of hose. to me this solid piece of hose under all the crud appears to be a hard point to keep the flex pipe on either side running to the tanks in place. it also appears to be the possible source of my leak. my question is, is there always fuel in this line? it seems when i am on the lower side of the fuel guage the drips stop. growler you seem to be the fuel system expert any input?
cheers

on top of that, how difficult would it be to swap the whole tank out? cca has some tanks might just be a better idea to swap the whole thing and be sure.

I'm not sure which hose you're referring to. Any chance you could snap a picture of the offending item? I was about to crawl under my van to see, but it's all very non-standard now so wouldn't do much good.
The fuel feed from the front to the rear tank (Labeled "fuel to rear tank" in the 9th picture in this post: http://www.delica.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=17225) does what you describe, except it's just one flexible length of pipe as far as I recall. It's usually just cable tied to the large diameter filler pipe that connects the two tanks. Anyway, that pipe should always be filled with fuel.
The 15mm vent pipe sits up much higher, and halfway along it connects to a piece of steel pipe which is bolted to the chassis rail- that keeps the vent pipe up high so it doesn't fill with fuel.
Either one of those pipes can leak.

Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

it aplears the be the fuel to back tank hose. in your pic that hose length in my van comes forward and intk what appears to be a highly corroded 2 or 3 inch piece of solid hose whixh is anchored to the front tank then goes flex again. ill snap a pic tomirrow when there is light. thanks for the info so far. that being said it seems from my research that every van seems to be a one off. ill take a pic or two tomorrow
