Things I have done to my Delica lately

Post by 204explorer »

I have had my van for almost three month now. Since winters are long and cold here I had time to do a few upgrades.
-I installed a espar heater (separate post)
-I mounted 2 led flood lights to my rear hitch. Now I can actually see what I am backing into.
-my royal exceed had the original karaoke system installed. Out of all the speakers only one was working. I installed a double din alpine head unit and wired in new speakers and tweeters in the front. The back has to wait a bit longer.
Today I also installed a sirius receiver to enable satellite radio on my head unit.
-I finally replaced the burned out light bulbs in the heater control unit. Now I can see what buttons I push in the dark.
Used LED's I got from amazon.
-installed some LED strip lights for mood lighting.
Now I am out of money. Lol
Next thing on the list is getting the rear door gas struts re charged.
What have you done to your van lately?

This thread's been uncharacteristically quiet for a while!
Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

I knew someone was going to point me in that direction. I was looking for that topic yesterday but could not find it.

Wow very nice. Karaoke system huh. I was was hoping to get a delica with this so I could maybe plug in a guitar. Hmm mood lighting, LED's sound nice also.
It has been a while since I have been on, but still love my Deli. Not sure where to post my happenings so here goes.
-This is what I have accomplished. Met Kellyn in Fort Myers Florida and with his help he installed my EGR blanking plate and he will help with the tap in die for my EGR gauge as soon as we can get to it. Also hopefully he will direct me in changing some seals and bits for a small leak he noticed. Got a kit from Japan.
-Installed a 3 hole hitch. Just need trailer wiring now.
-Kellyn repaired a gear feed line I nicked when I was installing an aluminum radiator. He is definitely my super hero.
A few stitches and I beat the h*** out of the radiator to get it to fit and thus the stitches lowering the bottom support, arrrgh Grinder mishap. I have learned to measure better before ordering stuff like a radiator. Had a chinese company modify another radiator that should arrive tomorrow originally for a starwagon Express with the bottom revamped for our Diesel. Is 40mm and they said they may make one in the future for 50mm or so if people show an interest. I will make sure Kellyn sees and evaluates it to see if is worth while if anyone else is interested.
-Hmm I installed my modified snorkel from FTS. Not too bad for this gal. I even capped off one inlet of the air filter cannister to attach the snorkel. Not stainless, but hopefully the PCV connection will work for a while. I dream of learning how to weld one day, lol.
-Side steps installed: kinda Jere rigged. Need to order correct brackets of have some made. Its that welding again.
NEXT: Have some old Pajero lights and intercooler next on the horizon as I learn my way around circuitry and how to's.
Still want a ladder, rack, check into shocks upgrade. Would love a airplane looking skid plate like Glowerbeans I believe and LEDS's and oh of course that guitar jack. Then on to more camperizing, air compressor and oh yeah how on what Bushings are and where they are supposed to go, and where to get them, smiles.

And first get a job to pay for all of this. Resumes are out!

Good luck with the job hunt. That karaoke system is over rated and from my understanding none of them work when the vans come over here. I disabled mine and installed a new radio. I only had one speaker still working so i had to upgrade those aswell.
I am sure glad i know how to weld and own a welder. I just wish i could weld aluminum. I might have to go back to the old community college and upgrade my skills.
