Heres a good mystery for the community; after several days of hard work I've successfully installed the new turbo (aftermarket from RMI) on my 92 L300. During the process I also decided to do my blank my EGR. After tuning the turbo in via the wastegate actuator to 12 psi finally time for a real test drive! Only to have dreams of a perfect performance quickly stolen...
When really loading it up on the highway, pedal to the floor, high RPM, there is a sudden minor power loss accompanied with black smoke and a ticking noise. Disappears as soon as I back off the throttle. Any insight or ideas? Pretty stumped on this one..
