you should be ok with dot headlight beam.
because those led should be bright so putting more light to the incoming traffic could be a problem.

LED Headlights
Why would you upgrade? I just bought my 91 delica, and the stock headlights are way brighter than my old Toyota van.
Before I sold the old van I upgraded the headlights and all other lights to LED. The drop in current (I think) gave me some electrical problems, like cruise control wouldn't work with the lights on. The Delica I've got seems to have less electronic, so maybe there won't be a problem...
