DELICAT's got a cat!

Post by delicat »

Hi all,

Had a chance to meet a whole bunch of you at the recent meet in Vancouver, what a great turnout! But for those you couldn't make it here's a picture so you can associate the ride with the driver. Hope to see you all again soon, hopefully daytime or weekend long!

Cheers!

Nice motor you have there!

White is one of my fave colours on an L300 and that looks like a real sweet one too. I bet you're beside yourself now you have it?

Agreed with the comment above - that is one blinding roof box...it fits your motor SO well (physically as well as style wise) and looks like it was 'poured' into place, not bolted on there!! Don't EVER remove it....it belongs there! (or it belongs on mine if you ever decide to part company with it? :-D )

Looking forward to seeing some great shots of it in *some* of those fantastic Canadian locations (*some* = one of those truly understated uses of the word if you get my drift?)

Enjoy...

Ya, I like the pod. Makes the Delica stand out even more but really doesn't help me with underground and ferry... I'll have to wait until the weekend to tell you what kind it is as the van is in the shop for preventive service right now. But it's really light (fiberglass) and my guess is that it's mainly for skis and boards. There's foam underneath to protect the roof and it worked good as the roof is real nice.

I wish I could figure all the "extra" wires inside, seems like the PO had it tricked out. There's a huge cable assembly going to the back for what I think used to be an amp along with some double outlets at the front, no idea what they are for.

I was happily surprised when I got her to find out that all the shades work perfectly along with all the lights on the inside knobs. Basically there's nothing wrong "yet", I even have the full Delica on the tailgate. Oups, the stereo (crazy Alpine system with remote from early 2000) probably needs a fuse but that's it. The inside is immaculate as well, no smell, no tears/burns and the seats look almost new. :-D

The bad part about importing from Japan is the wait, for me it was a gruesome 4 months wait without knowing for sure what I was getting. I used Terra2 if anyone is interested to know how it went just PM me...

The good part with this van is that it came with lot's of extras that I had no idea. Like it came with Volk Racing forged wheels, aftermarket steering wheel, turbo timer, funky stereo that "will" work and a few other goodies and it was definitely as advertised, a grade 4 BB.

For those interested to know the accurate speed while running 30" tires, I used my GPS and the speedo is bang on. I also get 2500RPM at 95Km/h. Does everyone have similar numbers?

More pictures and details to follow...

So thanks again for this great community, you guys have been great all along. I don't think I would have jumped onto the Delica if it wasn't for you! :-D After all, I already had 2 toaster vans... 8-)
