Auto Trans Kickdown/Detent cable failed
Hi All!
This is my first post here. My transmission kickdown/detent cable failed on me. I ordered what i thought was the right part (pioneer ca-2005) but alas it is not. Does anybody know what and where i can get the right cable? It is a 1992 with a 4G64.
Thanks.

Hi Andrew, and welcome!
I believe you need MItsubishi part MB919151, about US$75 at Amayama.com (https://www.amayama.com/en/part/mitsubishi/mb919151), but you can probably use the Mitsubishi part number to cross-reference aftermarket parts.
You'll want to have a look at the Technical Reference Library here: http://www.delica.ca/forum/viewforum.php?f=78
...and the FAQs here: http://www.delica.ca/forum/viewforum.php?f=16
which includes this post http://www.delica.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=17210 about how to look up genuine Mitsubishi part numbers for your vehicle. The post is a touch outdated, I prefer to use https://www.ilcats.ru/mitsubishi/ instead of Partsouq.com.

Auto Trans Kickdown/Detent cable failed
My kickdown cable has come apart at the one end thus making difficult to adjust to the factory settings. I ordered a new OEM cable from Steven at Rising Sun Auto. It wasn't cheap, but I know it's the correct part, and it's genuine Mitsubishi. I've yet to install it, and right now it's sitting in my mom's garage. The part number should be on the packaging that the part came in. I'll have a look next time I'm at her place and see what I can find.
I think I paid somewhere around $175 CAD which might seem expensive, but its original Mitsubishi, and Steven always gets it right when I order things from him. I've never had to return anything. And that's a good thing because I live in Ontario, and he's out in BC.
Anyway, stay tuned for the part number if I can find it.
Cheers, Phil

Those part numbers are for a diesel engined Delica. Andrew has a 4G64 petrol engine. MB919151 is more likely the correct cable for his van.

Thanks everybody. I ordered the part growlerbeanz referenced from amayama. Do you know roughly ho long they take to ship and how long shipping takes? I'm on the east coast US. Thanks again!

When you place the order there is a "ships in" time block. From that date it usually takes at least a couple of weeks IME.

Too late now but... next time be sure to double-check the part number yourself. I made a few assumptions about your van's spec, and while the kickdown cable appears to be the same for all petrol engined vans, I didn't check them *all*.
