February 22, 2008:

Further to our correspondence of yesterday’s date, I have discussed this issue of with other members of the Canadian Delica community, and have restored the original thread concerning JDM Wholesalers Canada

In order to address the points raised in your letter, I have gone through the thread myself and have deleted/edited specific parts of the post that I believe may have cause you concern. If you believe there or other parts that are inaccurate, I would invite you to draw my attention to these and I will verify the accuracy.

I trust this is satisfactory.

Yours truly,

Mark

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ

Upon discussing this matter further with the folks affected, I've reconsidered my position. This thread concerning JDM Wholesalers may continue to function, subject to one condition.

Keep this discussion to the verifiable facts. As the author of any post, we are wholly responsible for ensuring that our facts are accurate. JDM Wholesalers Canada‘s letter alleges that certain members were posting inaccurate information about their firm in this thread. While I have edited/deleted the specific portions that JDM alleges to be inappropriate, do not add material to this thread that inflames the situation further.

I have also given the opportunity to Nick Robinson (the author of JDM Wholesalers’ letter to us) to identify any specific inaccuracies that he feels need correcting.

While I'm reluctant to delete/edit any member posts in this way, I trust that this outcome will be satisfactory to Delica Canada members overall.

[quote="JMK"]No-one seems to have made mention of whether they have embarked on taking some pro active steps toward recouping their losses. It is probably the only recourse left.

We have taken steps to seek recourse and since we are in the process there isn't really anything to report other than waiting. Thanks for the links and the information, I really appreciate it!

I don't suppose you'd be willing to elaborate on the type of letter or the contents thereof?

Might not be best to discuss the 'contents' of the letter on the open forum. A PM might be a better course to pursue.

The letter was an explanation of their side of things. I don't feel that I need to explain things for them on this forum by posting the contents of the letter. I'm sure they'll post a generalized version of the letter for all to read when they are ready.

The basic gist of it is that they are feeling victimized by the Vehicle Sales Authority and had no choice but to leave and let their customers fend for themselves with the VSA. We were instructed to contact the VSA for more information on our vehicle.

Also, after almost 2 weeks of attempting to contact anyone with JDM we finally received an email reply from Nick in which we were threatened with legal action for our postings on the forums similiarly to the PM Mark got. I find it an interesting response when I'm just relaying my experiences so that others don't fall into this kind of thing as well.

Anyone else heard from them?

I guess free speech has it's limits in New Zealand. Real nice folks!! From my perspective we should be able to discuss this issue openly and provide insight for all those other individuals that survey this site as they decide how and when to buy a Deli.

From my perspective JDM can get stuffed, please feel free to send me a letter!!
Cheers!!

Some search results from Google.

1: An rss feed led to some vehicles being listed. The feed date appears to be Feb 20. THe feed says,
"More info,JDM Wholesale and retail. The rest was edited out because it turns out they are not related, just a poor choice of wording in their Ad.
Last, here is a Google archived page:
http://209.85.175.104/search?q=cache:rp ... d=12&gl=ca

Other forums are now started to pop up with related threads:
http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?p=131477

And now this post from their previous website provider adds to the growing litany of grievances:
SITE CLOSED DUE TO UNPAID BILLS

WARNING: If you are considering business with JDM Wholesale Canada...
We suggest that you carefully consider this worrisome part of its business record.

JDM Wholesale Canada ( http://www.jdm-wholesale.ca ) has not paid its outstanding debt for IT services rendered.
It has ignored repeated requests and has seemingly chosen to disregard it's obligations.
It is here: http://209.85.175.104/search?q=cache:Rp ... cd=6&gl=ca
However, it is now only available as a cached page. If you click the live link you get the generic ihug page. Perhaps ihug also recieved one of those threatening letters and they caved in?

All the above links are currently public domain sources freely found - simply using Google.

I agree with the previous poster. I'm proudly Canadian, you want to send me a threatening letter, also give me the phone number of your lawyer and let's get going here. Bring it on!

Back on the daily Google update. Another page that was posted in New Zealand has bit the dust, and the only way to see it is via the Google cached version of it:

Here is the deleted one on the Google link that leads straight to the forum, but the topic has been deleted :
http://forums.performancecar.co.nz/view ... 2&p=516683

Here is the cached version where you can actually read the original post by 'Canadian Dupe" and responses to it.

EDIT: Removed the craiglist link as it was NOT a JDM Wholesale item, just worded in a way that made me think it was.

Same mistake I made. See post above where I deleted the reference. They have made a poor choice of words, what they are trying to say is "we are a JDM wholesale-retail seller".

They are different than JDM WHolesale even though their location was quite close.

PS: I noticed that they had a 'hotmail address'. I don't know about you, but when I see anyone in a position like this who's business doesn't have a domain of it's own and an email address to match, it raises a red flag for me. I'd suggest to these fellows that they may want to at least get their credentials looking a little more established with a better email address that is not a free disposable one.

they're both lower mainland, but so are the majority of importers... beyond that it's hard to say they're close as they are on different streets in different cities....
