So, many years later, the L400 is running again. Root cause was a failed starter. Since it has been sitting garaged for years, and then Covid came along, fixing it back up was not a high priority.

Finally, after ages struggling with the starter replacement, it fired up!

Now there is a lot of post-storage work to do to get it road worthy again.
