Hi,
Just to let you know for anyone who cares: Jay of the Tardis Deli and Falco of the Miss Lil`Bitchi are going for breakfast at the Tomahawk on Phillips off Marine Dr., in North Van at 09:30, tomorrow (Saturday morning, 8 March).
After Breakfast we are going to Falco`s metal fabricator to look at the aluminium pentagragh and steel cargo bay units (that are going into the Miss Lil`Bitchi) before they get powder coated .
All Delis are welcome, ten bucks should cover breakfast.
Falco.

A report from the "Breakfast at the Tomahawk event". I apologise for the tardiness of my posting, I blame it on personal computer knowledge issues ~ which is also why the photos are in reverse order.

- This is the pentagragh for my laptop ~ hence navigational tool. It is mounted on the bulkhead behind the driver's seat, beside the bulbous part. With it, one can operate the laptop from both back seats and both front seats. It will be wired (via inside the arms) into the van's electrical system, and running a USB hub that will be located under the dash for things like GPS beacons, coffee warmers, camera downloads, &c. It will also hook up to the stereo, which among other things will allow for surround sound when watching "Pirates Of The Caribbean" when communing with nature... um, it also works as a tool for displaying my portfolio to clients.

looks like a great turnout and some cool fabrication... I am completely confused though by the second peice. The rear bench part makes sense and the laptop thing is great, but the peice with the mirror hole in it goes where??

I'm new to the Delica world. In fact, I don't own one yet but I'm hoping to find out more and ultimatley snag what seems like an ultimate vehicle (in terms of versatility and economics). It looks like some of the Delica veterans are on the leading edge and I'd like to learn more before I invest.

The meshed piece is hinged onto the rear bench piece and has two legs that fold down. The bench part is the base. The meshed part swings up and down and the two are held together by three hinges (with three removable bolts so it is easily removed). Down when the back seat is folded away, this is to store my tools under and stow things like gallons of paint on top (or whatever) and the mesh is at an angle that hides much of the view from the rear wind screen when looking in. When the back seat is folded out and as far back as it goes the meshed piece is then in the up position. While it is in the up position the expanded mesh itself is at the correct angle so there is less in the way of my rear view, however, the back-up mirror requires more detail when using ~ so I cut a hole in the mesh. The main bench piece, incidentally, is held in place by two carriage bolts, so it too is easily removed.
I picked that shape for the hole because I thought it was prettier than a plain old square ~ style man, style.... smiles.
