From Hope to Tofino and back again.

Spotted about 25+ Delica's over the past 10 days or so. Too many locations to remember, but some were:
Hope near the bank I think it was. TCH heading W'bound to Horeshoe Bay, Port ALberni, Tofino, Ucluelet, Surrey, Cloverdale in mini mall parking lot (yesterday), Coombs (of course). I was in Black over Silver Chamonix with a grey pod on the top. Much to my suprise never got a chance to chat with any other owners. In the Port ALberni Can Tire lot (where a lot of Deli's seem to go), a Deli pulled in across from us and basically ignored us, I guess they are getting so common out there they don't have the time to chat with every Deli they see.

There are three of us Deli owners in Hope. Mine is two tone, Green and white. I used to live in Banff for about 16 years, do i know you JMK? I used to work Parks Trail Crew in 90's and on the Ski patrol at SSV and Norquay, till 1999.

Yes you probably do, my desk is beside your old boss Don Gorrie's, and I've worked for Parks for 27 years, and also Pro patrolled at Sunshine, as well I did avalanche control at SSV and Norquay at various times. I assume that wasn't you we waved at in Hope though, if it was you'd remember. Nice photographs on your site BTW.

thanks for looking! Is Don still doing the trail crew job? I sure miss the Bow valley! although I've now gotten use to the mild weather over here. I'm still in the avalanche biz working for highways. Do you ever attend the CAA meetings? Is Carl still fighting fires? say hi for me if he is.
Are there many Delis in Banff/Canmore?

Small world, I worked for BC Highways out of Hope in summer '76 mapping the Coquihalla avalanche sites. Carl still around, feel free to PM me for more non-Deli stuff/updates. Back on to the Deli's, there are four Deli's in Banff I believe. 2 Chamonix and 2 Super Exceeds. Also a Hilux and a Pajero. A smattering of LHD JDM Euro vehicles as well including my G'friends newly aquired VW Corrado VR6 and my BMW 320i. One of the local garages tells me that they are even sourcing Delica parts right out of Japan as the other Deli owners seem to be getting work done locally (I have a private mechanic in Calgary that I use instead).
