Hi Everyone!
Hi everyone, we are the Blue Van Group or the Passmore family. Our Delica is a ‘92 Super Exceed, blue over silver and she has all the bells and most of the whistles! We have decided to name her Littlefoot. We purchased her at an auto action in Victoria; that is definitely a fun and exciting way to get a vehicle! This was the second time on the block for this van; the first time it did not reach its reserve (it went to $10,500). When we bid on it we actually won the auction at $8,500 but knew we would not get it for this price as it was way below the reserve. After some bartering back and forth we settled at the price of $10,500 and we think that this was probably a fair price. We have not done anything to her yet except enjoy driving her. We met a bunch of you (including Glen) at the Rathtrevor run a couple of weeks ago. Littlefoot will be going up to Coombs this weekend to visit Glen and have the usual work done to her that these vans all seem to need when they arrive here.

Aaahhhh, YOU were the other light blue low-roof. Welcome and well met. You'll have to come out again some time when the next gathering is organized. Love the name - very catchy.

Re: Hi Everyone!
Ya the colour on this one is a little different, it's the only blue over silver one we have seen. We really like the colour. My wife has a thing about blue vehicles, even her bicycle is blue
Yes, that was us at Rathtrevor. We had a great time. It was great to get out and meet some of the other Deli owners. We will definitely be out to other meets. Maybe we will even drag the kids along to the next one

Re: Hi Everyone!
Thanks for the kind words everyone!
We have sent our Littlefoot up to Coombs to spend the week with Glen at CC autos.
Glen has a van at Coombs that you al should see pictures of. It is blue over silver just like ours and jaggedfishes. This van went into a ditch passenger side front fender and then rolled!
Lots of damage I would not have wanted to be in the passenger seat but all in all the damage to the van wasn’t too bad. These are tough vehicles.
Jaggedfish I am curious about your avatar “Mini Man” do you own a mini? If so BMC or BMW?

Re: Hi Everyone!
Hi Doug and Kim,
Well... actually the "mini man" comes from my love of all things "rally"... and I had a feeling it would miss the mark in interpretation... any marketing person will tell you, if you have to explain it... it's not a successful campaign
Oh the humility. Soooo... My favorite trucks are the MAN trucks seen commonly in rallies like the Paris-Dakar and in truck trials in Europe... I see the Delicas as small "sort-of" versions, hence the "mini" portion. Didn't see the reference to MINI cars coming tho... DID think people might thing I was a dwarf....
Perhaps "Deli MAN" is more apropo...
Anyways, welcome to the group (loving the name by the way... no explanation necessary... simple and creative).
Now... I'm taking my mini 6'2", 240 lb self to the bathroom for a good cry.....

Re: Hi Everyone!
Jaggedfish, as your marketing person will tell you any interest is good! No we didn’t make the connection between Man rally trucks and Delicas, perhaps for your avatar you should put a picture of a Delica in front of a Man? We are also rally fans! Love the big trucks and suffer through the bike coverage on TV waiting for the cars and trucks to come on. We have never been to one of the big off-road rallies but have done a few pavement rallies, autocrosses and funcanas. This is why we thought of Minis. When you get your 6’2’ self out of the bathroom go to http://WWW.marathonrally.com click on paper models then go to rally trucks and you can make your own Man truck! You will also find a Delica model under Rally Cars. Love your sense of humour.

Re: Hi Everyone!
...sniff... sniff...
....That's a fun link! Gonna look at that some more.
Will see what I can do about the avatar thing... MAN/Delica/Roaming Gnome....
I came by my love for Rallies by way of genes... my uncle was a driving force behind the introduction of hill climbs in the UK many, MANY years ago and was an avid rally driver back in "the day". He introduced me to the madness that is rally driving by way of roaring down a country road in a SAAB 9000 turbo at 85+ mph, coming upon an unexpected hump-back bridge and immediate left hand turn next to a field of grass.... his foot remained glued to the floor as we exited the field having entirely missed the turn and didn't even appear phased by the whole event.
That left an impression on me... and my shorts....
He was also an owner of a couple of James Bond cars too! Some interesting stories attached to that as well.
I used to regularly attend the Knox Mountain Hill Climb in Kelowna... always wanted to try that... crazy stuff!
Cheers!
