Glow Plugs???
Hey Not to sure how glow plugs work in these beasts. Do you need to let them warm up as in older domestic( or new domestic?) Diesels? I checked some other posts and there was mention of Cycles, clicks. Mine aren't making any noise I can hear... no lights indicating glow plug warning either. I'm just used to being told to wait till the glow plug light goes out. Thanks guys.

Re: Glow Plugs???
When you turn the key to 'on' before the engine turns over, you should hear two clicks.
If you don't hear anything, then it may be a problem with the ECU glow plug control unit, temp sensors, solenoids and/or plugs themselves.
I'd recommend to take it to CVI in Richmond or CC in Coombs on the island depending on where you live and either have them test the ECU or replace it with another.
$150-ish I believe is the going rate for a used/exchange.
Or you can have bluetreak or a good electronics/alternator shop look at it. Most places are able to repair them.
Don't ignore it. It controls the glow plugs/solenoid and may cause more problems down the road.

Re: Glow Plugs???
There is no light to indicate the status of the glow plugs--you have to listen for the 'clicks'.
There are a couple of relays under the driver's seat which cycle the glow plugs on and off. The first click is turning on the glow plugs, and depending on the heat of the engine the second click should be between 4 and 8 seconds later (it turns the plugs off). The clicks are quite audible, and if the ignition system is working correctly, you'll hear them while you're sitting in the seat or standing outside next to the seat.
For further ideas as to what might be your issues, check this thread of mine: Ignition/starting system repairs
