offset with flares?
Jesse covered rim sizes without flares, but I have the standard stock flares and wanted to know
what size rim in 15x7 below would give me a proper offset for a wider stance but relatively flush
with the flares. Would 15x8's rub on anything?
I am looking to run 30x9.5x15 AT's as I am looking for a larger look, but I do not wish to remove/cut anything.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Joe

Re: offset with flares?
Joe,
Mine are 15x8 rims with 3.75" backspacing, pushing out the tire to the outside quite a bit.
With 31x10.5's on, the full tire sits 1.75" past the body.
I measured it out and the common flares you see would be perfect for this offset.
If you are running 30x9.5's and would like the same offset, then you would look for a 15x7 rim with backspacing of 2.5 or 3 " inches.
30x9.5 wide tires will not fit on a 15x8 wide rim. The bead will not sit properly. 15x7 is perfect.
This will push the 15x7 rim outwards similar to mine and will be perfect for those flares.
You may need to trim a 'touch' off the inside on the fronts, but other than that, you should be fine.
I measured the rear flares and you won't have to do any trimming there at all.
Running 30's, maybe nothing on the fronts as well.
The flares I'm referring to are on Mardy's van and the one's you see on most Delica's that have them.

DO NOT USE SPACERS!
DANGEROUS!
Wheel offset is ok.

Re: offset with flares?
You do not want to use 'spacers' the rings in between the rim and hub.
I think what you are looking for is how far can you have a tire/rim stick out the side of the van.
Take the orange one below with the 31x10.5x15 tire.
That rim is 15x7 at 3.75" backspacing.
If you use a 15x8 at 3.75" backspacing, it will push the tire out 1" more which is what I have.

Re: offset with flares?
OK i see what you mean now.. what about 30/12.5 or 21x12.5 tyres ? will they turn ok or will they rub and cause issues ? i want to fit the max i can without jacking it up too high.. just 2" lift over stock...i have no side stuff to catch on. just bare panels...

Re: offset with flares?
To be honest, I'd have to say there is only one way to try.... test fit them out.
Mine are just a hair too much (sticking out). I need flares, cutting and a sliding door extension to make everything work properly.
That's with a 2" lift and 31x10.5's on 15x8 rim with 3.75" backspacing.
The rest you can do the math from the chart I posted pretty easily.

Re: offset with flares?
Looking at 16x7 rims, originally was going with 15x7 and 30x9.5x15 rubber.
I was told that the largest tire to fit on 16x7's and keep similar dimensions
to the 30"s would be 225/70/16.
Would I not be able to go slightly wider to a 235? Or will I have any issues?
Cheers,
Joe

Re: offset with flares?
Joe you can go up to a 10.5" wide tire on a 7" rim. However it's recommended to put a max 9.5" wide tire on a 7" rim.

Here's what I know I'm after: 15x7
When searching for used rims, does anyone know more of the specifics on what fits the delica in terms of size of centre hole, and the 6 bolt spacing?

Backspacing and the center hole diameter will vary from rim to rim. You have to 'test & fit'

So any of the listed 6 bolts will work-- thanks for the info! (I was worried about the test&fit part though, not living near most of the sellers)jfarsang wrote: Stock toyota/chevy/mazda 6 bolt pattern. They are all the same.

Re: offset with flares?
Toyota and chevy trucks have similar sized aisin locking hubs so that center will fit.
The thing you need to check is the offset/backspacing.
