odd questions

Post by hammee39 »

Hey all... these may seem like fairly ignorant questions and I apologize for that but

1. are our vehicles pronounced with a long i sound in the "i" spot or a soft i sound? I have heard both versions used from many different sources.

2. how do I "prove" to the Autoplan broker that I do not need aircare for 1 year? Do I have to have him phone ICBC to question this issue?

Cheers
Thanks everyone... finally just about ready to insure the Deli!

There has been some discussion about this. Check out this thread: http://www.delica.ca/forum/pronunciation-2226.html I like del-eek-ah myself :? At this point I think it comes down to a tomato / tomato thing, though it IS a name after all, and if I learned for sure the folks at Mitsubishi who came up with it pronounced it the other way, I would feel kinda rude if I didn't change... :M :-D

The Japanese pronunciation sounds like "deh-rih-ka". This often gets anglicized to "DELL-ih-ka".

There are a couple of rather neat D:5 ads on YouTube if you want to hear it in the original Japanese. But then there is also an aussie L400 review on YouTube where they call it "del-EE-ka". I haven't heard this much on this side of the Pacific.

Ditto for me. Shogo and the folks at Japanoid pronounce it DELL-ih-kah.

As for your insurance question, I asked the very same one yesterday. Here is the thread: http://www.delica.ca/forum/air-care-and ... tml#p21108
