I looked at the K&N filters, but decided against. One activates them by putting a special K&N oil on the filter, which traps particles. So need to ensure one cleans the filter regularly, and re-oil it (when was the last time one actually opened up the air filter and cleaned it??). Importantly, the air coming out of the filter now has oil particles included, so can cause problems with oxygen air sensors & mixers in the fuel injection system. Since we have finally got everything running well after the Deli Spa treatments, I am not gonna risk it. But curious to know if anyone else has tried it. Christine.

Use a pair of K&N's in a sand buggy when I was down in Baja. Great filters for what they do but they allow huge particles to fly through and need to be maintained.

If they are cared for properly (oiled/inspected), then they are okay.

I was thinking about it 'cause it seems that a lot of rigs you see in the diesel mags have some kind of reusable filter (K&N, AEM,ect)

I had one in my RX-7, and I used to clean it regularly. Maybe just knowing that it's there is enough (to make sure you clean it)

Just my .02 cents

I was running a K&N in my Yukon, my 454 Chevelle and currently in my CBR929rr.
The instructions say to NOT clean the filter often, and to only do so after 50 000 kms
or a little more often in really dust areas.
The dirt build up with the oil makes the filter work better.

Are they actually better, I have no idea :)

K&N does make one for the Delica: E-2415. K & N is great and I even have one in my moped.

We just got a K&N for ours, but the part # was different, I think it depends on if your engine is a 4D56 or 4D56T. Our filter was an E-48somethingorother. I got the part # off the Wiki.

K&N filters are great.

We have run them on all of our street and race vehicles. The filters on one of my cars are over 20 years old and are still going strong.
