September cutoff for importing ??
I have heard that September is going to be the month that the rules will be changed -after this date all vehicles entering the (country) province will have to be 25 years!?? although this is just a strong rumour at this time -many dealers are scrambling to finalize and ship before this date..... anyone else have any info?? Cheers

No date has been set, any importer that tells you otherwise is attempting pressure sales to drive up their profits.
The government IS however considering changing the rule to 25 years, and only constant vigilance and effort on the part of the import community will prevent them from doing this.

That is rediculous.
Does anyone know what will happen to vehicle's already imported if the law changes? I'm guessing there would be a lot more hassel's in general, but can they make vehicle's imported before the proposed law comes into effect (which it hopefully never does) illegal as well?

well... the post is now a year old... and nothing happened....
That said, they ARE still trying, but currently Transport Canada isn't biting... best bet is to write your MP, let him know what you think!
If such a law were to ever come in to effect all current vehicles would likely be grandfathered, HOWEVER it would be next to impossible to get parts as most places that import parts would be out of business, insurance rates would likely sky rocket as the vehicles would be irreplaceable, and you'd end up with increasing hassles for registration... all in all, it would be a nightmare.

And they would probably grandfather it in. You could not import it here, but if it was already here... so be it.
