Ok, I looked for a rant section and couldn't find one... so i started a topic. Now to defend myself pre-rant I must say, I usually am not the ranting type.
So here it goes.
When reading posts, please read them carefully. If you feel like you learned something from one that you are going to use as "negative amo" then please clarify it with the writer first.
Anyhow, I know I am being rather vague. But I don't want to make things worse. What happened was someone used something I wrote on here out of context (or they just read it wrong) and almost totally destroyed a friendship of mine. I re-read the post, and found it was definitely read wrong... in fact so wrongly that it couldn't have even been a misunderstanding.
Well I hope this was not a bad thing for me to write.
Moderators, feel free to erase this if it is out of place. I just want people to read carefully next time or I would prefer not to participate.
Josh

Re: My RANT
Not out of place at all.
I work in a world of electronic communication and misunderstandings are VERY common.
Sarcasm, jokes, attitude, etc... are always mixed up.

Re: My RANT
Unfortunately many people skim rather than read posts... when doing so they often miss some pretty important stuff...
Your "rant" was actually quite mild, I know I have done much worse on this forum on occasion when my frustration level gets too high (especially when people answer my questions with information that I already put in the original post!)

Ha ha! Totally agree......I was reading it expecting it to kick off any minute into some mad flurry/torrent of abuse but alas, Josh - it seems your idea of a rant and mine are leagues apart. (said by a hot headed Brit mind you!)Green1 wrote:Your "rant" was actually quite mild
But then again, knowing how laid back you are anyway - I guess this was pretty hardcore for you?

If you need to vent your anger, give me a call anytime and I'll calm you down. Unless it was me who upset you, in which case, call me....shout at me in your laid back way and I'll apologise then crack a few jokes to clear the air!

It's good to air these things sometimes and I can totally see why you did if a friendship was put into question.
I hope you sort this out mate - and do give me a call....

Hey Josh... smiles,
I did something like that to Erebus in a thread about removing stickers, ask MM, he will confirm it. I had been talking about brake fluid with Jay earlier that day (about how some people smear brake fluid on paint jobs of people that they don't like) and had that on my mind. When I read Erebus's posting about how his mechanic had recommended "brake cleaner", all I saw was "brake fluid" (I am dyslexic, I might add). So I went on a little mini rant of my own... smiles. I guess it was my turn to screw up

Seriously though, you make a great point (although I'd be hard-pressed to call it a rant

Re: My RANT
It's difficult with this medium to correctly onvey the sense of emotion that one has attached to the words they are typing. I've found myself a couple of times pounding out something, only to edit it, re-write it, change the wording and then hit 'submit', only to realise that I once more need to change something because it still doesn't sound right. Green1 is correct by supposing that some are only 'skimming' - GUILTY as charged.
Good post and as one of the moderators I won't be taking it down. Josh, I think it serves a purpose and/or as a reminder to the netiquette we all need to practice on this forum. I would echo Mystery Machine's comments, this is definitely one of the tamer rants I've read on forums.

Re: My RANT
Thanks guys, I have gotten things semi sorted out. I was purposefully mild in the rant because I had a point to get across. I didn't want to just mindlessly freak out on everyone. I am glad you all empathize. I think this is a great reminder to all of us to read carefully before we write or comment.
I love you guys... gosh.
