I have a friend who is looking at a Pajero from them, and I thought I'd get the skinny on Global Garage from you guys.

I was thinking on asking the same question today. Actually I was going to list a few dealers and see what people thought. But wasn't sure if that was a proper thing to do.

From what I heard thought from just being on this site is Mardy is the way to go.

Hi, I have never heard of gg.

Since I know about 100 delis I have met at deli meets or PM'd or emailed (and I leave notes on windshields of any deli I don't recognize), I would take no info as "Not a good thing".

People praise good service on this site, thus a lack of praise means either a) buyer feels ripped off and doesn't want to to admit it, or b) Not in business long enuf to prove reliability. Beware.

Suggest go with the names recommended on the site, they will still be in business in 6 months when you need service.

If any one wants to ask about dealers that are not good, based on problems I have been told about by other owners, I will answer PM''s Private Messages. To use the PM, just click "new messages" up top beside logout, once you are logged in.

Regards, Christine.

I have dealt with Ryan at Global now on many occasions and have found him to be a very fair dealer that offers very good quality vehicles that are cleaned to very good standards . However the preparation done to the vehicles is normally limited like most other dealers to only changing the oil and DOT compliance . Most vehicles entering the country require a fair amount more of preventative maintenance and servicing to ensure reliablity which is rarely done by most of the common importers .

Another submariner bought his Pajero from GG - nothing bad to say about it, but he does qualify that with knowledge. He indicated that he did a lot of searching about, comparing price-to-maintenance-done, and decided that for the cheaper price he could do the kinds of things ccautos is alluding to for cheaper on his own (which he did). It sounds like a similar case to Luxury Imports (?) in Calgary: if you're willing to pay the extra money, you're going to get a really nice vehicle; if you want a vehicle, well, you can buy those anywhere.

I always thought it strange that GG seems to fly below the radar of this group yet he always has a couple of vans available.

I'll chime in on this (buyer beware of course), but I sent a few notes back and forth with Ryan prior to buying my current van. I was happy with the timeliness and quality of his responses and told him so. His vehicles appear to be of a good standard.

As has been pointed out, he doesn't provide the full service some of the others offer though. And that seems to be the significant distinction between dealers. edit: that and the fact that some of them have no ethics.

A friend of mine bought a Big Horn from them and was very happy.

For my research I contacted them and a few other dealers for the what's what. GG was the most thorough with his response. He answered everything I asked and even added some input such as the caution with the possible rust spots and other straight up points for me to look out for and consider when I buy at the end of summer.

I'd say that from my experience so far they are up there on my list when I buy.
