Where to put tow points

The tow point is fine. the problem on my vehicle is that someone ignored the perfectly good tow point and hooked in to a hole on the frame rail instead, these are NOT strong enough and obviously tore out.

Aha! I get you - I thought you were saying the towing point wasn't fine because there was a hole near it!

All makes sense now! Why someone would want to use a hole in the chassis rail to tow/pull something is way beyond me??

Hey Bruce: that 'arse' shot of your van, is that when you tried to determine how far over it would go without tipping over? That is one funny video! You definitely ain't no 'shiney' in that clip (to paraphrase your comments from another thread)!

I certainly ain't no shiney....although I did wash the Mud Monkey on Sunday for the first time ever!! The new owner wanted it cleaned and I obliged (crying on the inside!!)

All that hard work no gone....

Have a look HERE for some rather upsetting shots of the (no longer) Mud Monkey after a dose with the hosepipe.....it broke my heart....but time to move onto the new one I guess

On the towing eye which is under the rear bumper on the passenger side (big hoop coming down off the chassis rail)

Ahhhhh right, after a quick jaunt out to the parking lot to confirm, I remember that hoop IS there. Thanks Bruce.
