I'm starting to hear a high pitched whine that sounds like bearings when I accelerate and it also seems to be coming from the area of the Turbo.
I'm guessing that it's telling me that my Turbo bearings are starting to go, is that a common symptom of their impending demise? Should I be pro active and get busy?
Can these units be rebuilt from a kit or do you just order a rebuilt unit?

Re: HELP - Stranded
At the time that I posted originally I called around - a rebuild is pretty much your only option (new Turbos were quite expensive, no used or previously rebuilt available). Not sure about DIY kits, but rebuild prices varied depending on state of Turbo and the person I spoke to. OK thanks, I think I recall John Hamilton had some awhile back so I'll check with him first.
