Apologies if I'm being presumptuous, but I thought this subject should have its own thread in the proper forum - I really hope enough Islanders are interested and able attend that it happens. Many thanks to Glen for the most generous offer. Like I said in the original CVI / Tomahawk breakfast post, I'm never going to attempt any major mechanical surgeries on our bus, but am very keen to learn how it works, maintenance tips, etc. and for me the best way to learn that kind of stuff is to have someone in the know show me. Thanks again for the offer Glen. Sure hope it works out!Would there be any interest in running a workshop meet one weekend for an island get together . I don`t mind opening up the workshop one weekend for a Delica `how to` day . If there is any interest and enough people to make it worth setting up (no charge) I could set something up for early-mid august . Let me know what dates work and who would be interested . Thanks , Glen

Ooooo, this sounds interesting. I would attend if a date could be settled upon (and it's not too soon after we return from our road trip).
Will keep watching for a date.

What a good excuse for a day trip!
We could have a contest for the most needy delica, maybe the Bushbunny would win as I have a list as long as my arm of "stuff to do to the deli"

Re: Learn about your delica day at ccautos!!
Just spoke with Glen at CC Autos and I've set up a poll -------->>>>>>>>for the dates he is willing to run a show-and-tell. (Make your preference for a date known on the poll at the hyperlinked text.)
He indicated if there is enough interest for each day, he will run the show each day. I'm thinking in order to make it worth his while, there should probably be at least 3-5 people/vans show up. As for a timing, something mid-morning would work best for most (as not all of us live in Coombs) - say a 10.30h start time. Bring sandwiches and the like, or bring money for the world-famous Goats on the Roof restaurant around the corner from his place.
Also, what sort of things do people want to learn? Oil changing? Where's the air filter? Can I change the timing belt myself? Where are the fuses and which one is which? I don't know... put 'em out there and we'll coordinate a schedule of sorts. Glen has many vans laying about in various states of assembly (or disassembly, depending on perspective), so he can get right down into the nitty gritty things like the intake/exhaust valves and seat belt anchors and muffler bearings.

Re: Learn about your delica day at ccautos!!
We should be back by the 16th - could do the whole day; and I will be in that neck of the woods on the 23rd, also, but could only do part of the day. So my preference is obvious.
Need muffler bearings done for sure, but I think mine are reverse threaded so I hope Glen has the proper wrench.

I'd like to know how to change my air and fuel filter, as well as maybe how to pull my injectors to check for carbon build up from WVO use.
