Hydraulic arms for rear hatch...?
The hydraulic arms that hold the rear hatch of my Deli open pooped the bed. Has anyone had to replace thiers & if so, where did you get new ones?

Re: Hydraulic arms for rear hatch...?
I have a set on order with ccautos - hoping they will be in soon too, as there will be the extra weight of a NEW LADDER
to hold up after Tues... When you switch them consider flipping them around to make the hatch go higher - I haven't clocked my head yet, but have had close calls and seeing as we use the bus for work everyday, having the hatch held high and firm with new struts is a priority for us

Happy Day!

Re: Hydraulic arms for rear hatch...?
Thanks for the replies. I'm waiting to hear back from Mardy to see if he has access to some, but if not, I'll pursue these other avenues.
Kona, when I bought my Deli, the previous owner (Kuan) had already taken care of alot of the "do-it-yourself" modifications such as switching the arms. I've never seen the height of the door on a Deli that hasn't been modified, but I can imagine a bit of "premature balding" going on for some of the taller Deli owners.

I bought mine through wakefield parts. Came out to $25 ea and they are a touch beefier than the stock one's.

Say do you have contact info for wakefield parts as that is an unbelievably good price, from owning hatchbacks for eons I know these always fail eventually.

This reminds me of how much of a newbie I am.ExplosiveAbe wrote:I've never seen the height of the door on a Deli that hasn't been modified, but I can imagine a bit of "premature balding" going on for some of the taller Deli owners.
I thought my hatch was really high to begin with coming from a LHD car. NOW it's even higher.
Thanks, Tardisdeli.

Re: Hydraulic arms for rear hatch...?
Hey - Tardisdeli Jay did the switch for me at the ccautos meet last wknd - what a difference! At 6'5" I can now move around under that open hatch with no fear of whacking my noggin'. When I got home I started hunting for a new, longer bamboo hold-up-the-hatch-'cause-the-struts-are-baked-support and found I had a nice straight piece already cut to the exact length (I couldn't have measured it closer!!) and had even smoothed the ends.I thought my hatch was really high to begin with coming from a LHD car. NOW it's even higher.
Thanks, Tardisdeli.
Thanks again Jay!

Happy Day!

Re: Hydraulic arms for rear hatch...?
OK, so the Wakefield connection seems dead, but I was down at ccautos yesterday and finally got those stock Mitsu struts from RMI. Closing in on $300.00
, but ya know, they are just AWESOME!! The gate just floats up and stays there. We are in and out of that rear access everyday so it makes for a big improvement. Thanks RMI John for sending them and to ccautos Glen for housing them on his desk for several weeks until I got down there to get them!

Happy Day!
