Living in Squamish. decided to take a detour around the rock slide to continue our planned excursion to the island.

Took the 185 kms by Gravel road.. 55kms of it in 4x4. it was raining and the first 50-60kms of the Harrison West FSR were chewed up in places. only passed about 10 other vehicles during the journey down lillooet FSR and Harrison West FSR. would have thought more since the sea to sky was closed.

some pictures..

over to Naniamo to Lantzville and stayed on the beach for a couple of days, then on to Hornby island for 4 days. Cumberland and forbidden plateau for 4 days. and up island to Victoria for a couple of days,

Camera battery died prematurely so missed photos of tail end of trip..

Yaaa lotsa great riding..Hornby is just buff nothing burly.. Cumberland has many sweet skinnies and steeper lines.

And forbidden plateau is best to shuttle. I have a buddy with a primitive early 70's cabin at the top. didnt see another soul while staying up there. and the remains of the resort.. Last open the season of 99 up until the lodge they were building collapsed under the weight of the huge dump we got that year.

Great shots. Just love those Hornby trails! Cumberland is good too, though I admit I prefer old school X-country to skinnies and tricky stuff. And Forbiddin is awesome for that loooong decent. Still, Campbell River's 1st. class X-country Snowden is pretty much ideal for me. Pop up there next time and have tear through - Many kms. of trails. Anyway, thanks for posting your pictures! Great stuff :M :-D
