DOT windows

Post by shuggyss »

Hey folks,

What is the deal with windows? Must they all be DOT marked to pass inspection? And if so what would be the price to replace say a passenger side rear window? Thanks for any info.

I dont' know that it has to say "DOT" but they do have to indicate "AS1" for the windshield and "AS2" (or "AS3", I think) for everything else.

This question was brought up in another thread... try searching the rest of the forum. Or possibly one of the importers can chime in at this point?

What province/where are you located? Some locales have been dispensing more grief than others, so it may be as simple as finding an inspector which is not as anal. Still correct (don't misinterpret what I'm typing), but there have been some that have been reported as 'too literal' in their 'interpretation' of the inspection sheet.

I still miss my '94 Pajero!

I'm pretty sure if they are MMC then you are fine if not then you will likely need to replace, ccautos usually has used stuff.
