What are these things attached to my axle?

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

What are these things attached to my axle?

Post by BCDelica »

Before I leave the world of Delica, in need to know;

What are these, brackets seen under the axle directly below the leaf springs with a rubber bump stop, attached to the bottom of our leaf springs and what is there purpose?

Guessed it was protection if one side of the axle was under too much torque, keeping it from any possibility of spinning in the u-bolts. Crawled under many a Delica in the last several years and haven't seen another with these little bits. Something from the older L300's?

Regards,
Kev

something like torque bars? they put them on muscle cars to help get a better start off the line I think. just a guess.

Usually used on muscle cars to prevent 'squat' - when one stomps on the accelerator, the back end digs in before the vehicle starts to move forward. Don't think it would be much of an issue on these vans, maybe the gasoline variant, but probably not the diesel.

I still miss my '94 Pajero!
