the weather has pretty much sucked all summer
:? Ya think so?! I thought it was great. Granted I didn't camp much, but we do work and play outside everyday. It's shaping up that I will only have one night for recreaction on the wknd making caving at Thanksgiving a no-go, so Kona the dog and I will likely be out to Fry Lake Sat. morning through Sunday afternoon / evening - rain or shine... :-D

Hi All, So what are the final numbers -- who is "in", and what dates. I need to plan how much Special Potluck to bring. Kathy mentioned Potluck Sunday evening, but I wonder if that suits everyone best, as KonaDog can only do Saturday.

TardisDeli is joining the Horseshoe Bay ferry lineup Friday morning, no reservations available. So with luck will arrive at campsite Friday mid-afternoon, to help setup the Encampment. We might leave Sunday so we can avoid Ferry lineups Monday.

Who else?

Cheers, Christine and Jay (cell 604-961-1390).

Sorry guys, just found out I got to fly to Quebec City for work so I'll be gone for the week. Glad to go back to the old country but sad to miss a great camping weekend! Guess I'll have to make out for it when I come back...

Have fun!

The Miss Lil' Bitchi will be embarking on this trip at around noon, Friday, 10th. Will be stopping in Coombs en route. Will be tuned to 5/22 once I make the dam.

I think I will go back to North Van on Monday, maybe Tuesday, depending on my whim & the ferry traffic.

Delicat, sorry you will be missing this trip, we will miss you ~ Mars can ride with me. Don't know when you are getting back but let me know, Profister told me about this great little lake in behind Boston Bar & I was thinking of going there the following weekend.

Peace, Falco.

Brian will be on the road as early as possible this morning, I'm heading out early tomorrow, hoping to be there by early afternoon by the time we do the booze stop, etc. Potluck whatever night is good for everyone else, we're going to make a Mexican main dish, as we did last trip, with the meat and tortillas.

We have a mixed party of 10, representing an international group from Brazil, Mexico, Taiwan, Korea, Venezuala. Hopefully no princesses. We found out last night that Fernando can't go, his meanie boss wouldn't give him Friday off (he's pretty pssed about that!)

Sorry you can't make it David, you'll be missed. But there will be other trips and I'm sure you'll be around for them.

See y'all at Fry Lake! :-D :-D

Hey folks,

This looks like a fun weekend coming up! I wish I had already gotten over this rotten flu I came down with on Sunday so that we could join you guys and drule over your collective Delis, and ask you all questions, questions, questions! Alas, another time. Actually, I am not even sure if our current car ('90 VW Golf GTI *ehem*) would make it up there... It's only used to a bit of city traffic these days and hasn't seen gravel in... oh dear... too long.

Have fun!

Eat a clove of garlic. You will probably want to chew it up fast and swallow it, tout suite. Chase it down with something... coffee works well. If you are really ill when you do this your body will knock you out for twenty minutes as it takes the garlic and goes to work. When you come to you will feel better. Eat a clove after every meal (chasing it down with the coffee). When you make it to the meet and are asking us all those questions you were mentioning ~ give us a yard  .

Garlic with coffee? Brrr. Come on Falco, a 150-ml shot of straight vodka is what you need before chewing garlic! Trust me, it works every time for me for decades. :-D

Of course you are right on that point, Profister. I guess I was thinking back to when I was taking my kid to Family camp and I used coffee as a chaser. A shot of Bvodka is deffinately in order.

Probably head up Saturday unless I get kidnapped by outside forces. Wont make it up there by Friday night until dark and it might make finding the lake a little more difficult in the dark solo. Might make the attempt you never know.

Hello everyone!
I'm so glad that I got to meet some of the faces of the Delica forum. It was a fun, although brief visit out to Fry Lake. We'll probably be most remembered by our crazy, whiney pooch, Kona. He is kind of like an A.D.D kid in a candy store. Our newest addition, Nellie, a four mother old shep-a-doodle, comes to us with far less baggage and brings calm and composure to our pack. Kona has come a long way since his rescue from the pound just over a year ago. Anxiety is a tough demon to conquer. Plenty of patience, good leadership, and tons of exercise seem to be the best therapy. It was really cool to see all those beautiful Delicas parked together. I must say though, one stood out the most to me. Falco, I've seen your shiny bus on the forum and heard so much about you from Konadog that it was a bit of a thrill :o :-D to meet you and The Miss Lil' Bitchi. You're a celebrity in the delica world 8-). I much enjoyed the campfire and the welcoming hospitality from all. Konadog and I thought about you all while we walked the dogs in the rain early this morning. I'm glad the weather was pleasant for most of the camping trip.

On our way out to Fry Lake to meet the Delica campers and their dogs. We anticipate a good play :-D

A truly excellent weekend, in spite of the small number of deli's that came out, and some iffy weather. We're thinking the decision to head home Sunday was a good one, the weather report was for wind and rain on Monday, and the work involved in drying everything is really overwhelming.

We enjoyed seeing all the familiar faces, and meeting new folks too. REALLY good potluck on Saturday night, lots of good stories and all around the campfire, and two pooped puppies that can't even be bothered to eat this morning.

We're looking forward to a trip to the big smoke in the spring for some deli-relating, camping, and deli-palooza.

Finally.

Why thank you Hazelnut it was a pleasure meeting you, too ~ and I was greatly appreciative of the wisdom bestowed upon me by Konadog regarding the sharpening of the chainsaw blades. I didn't just use it for firewood, I used it for what I originally anticipated it for. On the way back I took a back road that I estimate had been deactivated thirty years ago. I will put a post up regarding that, but I must say it is amazing how brave one can get when you have tools.

Okay folks, here are some pictures from the Thanks Giving Weekend for some of you to reminisce over, and for some of you to drool over:

We didn't do a lot of driving this time ~ it was more of a social thing ~ but I did manage to do a little exporing on the way back to the ferry, but that is "Another Story".

Falco.

P.S.: Thanks to Profister for helping me figure this programme out.
