I got my Camry and then Pajero from www.motorworld.jp
Stay away from them as far as possible!
I'll give details if needed.
Good luck!

1. Terra2Imports - Positive experience - Haunted online auctions for a long time (great web-site) and finally won a bid through auction in Japan, got a great deal and a great van. T2 handled everything professionally - I felt good about the entire process, knowing full-well the risks of buying unseen. Finally, I requested the van be complied through Max Overdrive instead of their preferred garage, and except for a bit a squabbling between the two, the van was handed over to MO. Great guys - worked really hard for me.
2. Maximum Overdrive - Positive experience - Once the issues interfacing with T2 were put aside, the van was complied and overhauled swiftly and expertly. Worked hard to accommodate our annoying out-of-town pickup schedule, despite a massive snowstorm. Answered loads of questions, and sent me away with a nice manual. Highly recommended.

Re: Delica Dealer / Importer Ratings and Feedback
Purchased a 1993 Delica Jasper from Amazing Auto.
Overall it was and still is extremely positive.
Mardy went out of his way to accommodate a very tight schedule on my part, when the Delica came in, but it was pretty much a turn-key experience. I had the chance to spend the better part of a day with him when the Jasper came in and he is a wealth of Delica knowledge, plus he knows a damn good Philippino restaurant.
I had a decent hiccup with the Japanese batteries going out me, but again, Mardy was kind enough to accommodate me in the evening, after work, and replaced them at his house. But such a battery problem was not 'out of the blue'... mainly a headache at best.
Mardy's only issue (and he knows it) is that he's extremely busy. But when you're one of the top/most reputable dealers of Delicas in BC (arguably western Canada), it's something that is to be expected. So as long as one understands this, the entire process is is enjoyable, professional and legitimate.
Indeed I would recommend him, and I'm starting to run out of his business cards... now only if he had stickers too... (hint hint Mardy
) These are used Japanese vans after all, but between Mardy and the wrenches at CVI you're in pretty good hands.

Re: Delica Dealer / Importer Ratings and Feedback
I would like to give Zen Autoworks Canada (http://www.zenautoworks.ca) a positive rating for the recent purchase of our 1993 Delica Exceed. Sean is as picky about cars as we are, so when it came to this Delica, we were very impressed with the shape it was in when it showed up.
I don't know if this is the place to give feedback for compliance and maintenance, but I would like to also give a positive rating to Mardy at Amazing Auto, who did a fantastic job getting our Delica in tip top shape as well as handing all the compliance and inspection work. Since we live in the Okanagan, it was very handy to show up in Richmond, put the license plates on the Delica, pay for Mardy's services and be on our way.
Thanks again Sean and Mardy!

Aaron,
Sean stopped by Banff on his way home from your place and we had the pleasure of having him over for lunch. He told us the story of your vehicle so it's good to hear it worked out well for you.
I agree, Sean is a top notch individual with a lot of demonstrated integrity that I've seen first hand, he'd be at the top of my list as a resource for sure.

Hello
Want to add a positive review for Mardy, Amazing Auto.
The reason I went to him, his reviews on this board of course.
This forum has been extremely helpful to me in researching my Delica purchase.
I purchased a 1992 Super Exceed with 184,000 Kms on it just over a Month ago from Mardy.
He went above and beyond on both pre-servicing and customer service after the purchase.
He is extremely busy but it is worth the piece of mind you get when you buy from him.
If I ever had to buy another Delica I would definitely repeat.

Re: Delica Dealer / Importer Ratings and Feedback
Hi,
I am a new member here (I've been a member for more than a month) and I wanted to post our great experience in dealing with Mardy at Amazing Auto Imports. We did a lot of research over the summer, looked at a few Delicas, talked to owners and dealers and in the end decided to work with Mardy - in large due to the positive feedback and rating he has received on this site. We were leaning towards getting a vehicle from a previous owner to avoid dealing with leaks and benefit from a vehicle that had been shown love and attention but the selection just wasn't there. I was really pleasantly surprised at how well Mardy ended up improving our vehicle to get it to the same point as a couple of the Delis we looked at that had been upgraded by owners like it was his own vehicle which I didn't expect especially since I am skeptical of dealerships.
If you want to know more read on...
We chose a 1993 Exceed that Mardy brought in that is in great shape. No rust, 100km, the engine ran pretty well. Mardy then did his thing over the next two weeks and after a Deli tune and replacement of the radiator, timing and fan belts, brakes, new tires, shocks and a few more items, and some extra tweaking, we picked up our Delica and headed out on our first road trip in it on the same day! It held up nicely and started up fine in sub zero weather in the Cariboo even after being left for a day in the fresh snow.
We had no problems with it whatsoever and are back sound and safe. I have to admit I was nervous heading out in a 'new' 15 year old vehicle with my partner and daughter into some back country areas that would not be fun to hike out of with a kid but the Deli held up. We haven't named it yet and can't wait to go on our next road trip!
btw can anyone recommend a good carpenter who could do some custom box work for inside of our deli?
PM me please if you do.
thanks

Silk Road.
Positive experience.
Important to do your own due diligence even though they are basically honest.
I'd recommend them to others with the caveat of taking any vehicle to be checked out by a reputable mechanic like the amazing auto guys.

Re: Delica Dealer / Importer Ratings and Feedback
I bought the Landmaster from VI Custom Cars, Overall I would say my experience was neutral. Had I known about 5 Star and CC Autos, I would never have bought from VI. Here's why.
The van was missing the airplane-y bits (altimeter console), which seem to have caught the VI guys off guard (Um, you guys aren't aware that your 'ready for sale' veh's are missing parts??) Even though I was at their shop all day (The owner wanted to show me a couple of 'fresh off the boat' vans in case I was interested), I felt near the end that they were in a rush to get me out the door. Then I took me three round trips to get the few missing/ defective bits sorted out (airplane-y part and dodgy window mechanism)
My van was in solid shape (much of the upholstery looks new), but a trip to Glen at CC Autos revealed that I had some work to do, $2000.00 worth in fact, to get it to the same level of mechanical reliability as a van from 5 Star! Gaak! I would have spent about the same initial price for a van at 5 Star, but all the mechanical would been sorted already!
Later, one of my mirrors got smashed by the local yuppie larvae. My first stop was CC Autos (even though they are a bit further away, you go where you know you will get good service!) Unfortunately, they were out of mirrors, so I went to VI. While I was waiting for the shop guys and the boss to finish up a job, I spied a complete mirror assembly in a spare parts...heap. Originally I was told that they were out of mirrors, and when I directed the boss' attention to the spare I saw earlier, the answer I got was along the lines of,"If I sell it to you, I won't have it anymore! -isn't that the point of having parts for sale, so people can buy them??)
At any rate, if you're in Coombs/ Parksville, go to 5 Star!

Positive experience with
Japan Road Trip (Black Diamond Lodge in Japan) http://www.japanroadtrip.blogspot.com
Clayton was my contact.
I sent him an email asking if he's seen any camperized Delica's a few months ago. Get a reply back that he hasn't for quite some time but his own personal ride (a Chamonix pop-top) may be up for sale in the near future. I told him to put me in line.
We exchange a few emails, pictures, condition, price, etc... then a week later I get the go ahead.
Friday I send the $ over. 3 days later it's on the boat. 2 weeks later I pick it up.
Fastest overseas transaction I've ever done.
Everything went smooth. Every little flaw and goodies was clearly identified.
He shipped it with north american tires and had it mechanically up to snuff.
Only thing was he said it may need new rear sway bar links. I told him no biggie. He said he would ship them to me.
A few days after picking up the Delica, I received a set of new genuine mitsu rear sway bar links in the mail.
I am one happy camper and will email him and post in delica the future mods and camperization.
Can't wait.
Thanks Clayton. Three thumbs up.
ps. He may have had some mixed comments from others, but after importing half a dozen JDM's myself and the 2nd one from an exporter/importer, I have to say I was very impressed.

Very positive service experience with Japanoid.
With no previews relationship, they took me in on emergency(head cracked and baby 6 days overdue to be born...I NEEDED a working vehicle! ), they put me on top of the work orders and got my vehicle in and out in record time.
Good experience, reasonable price, quality workmanship and high expertise.
Thanks Japanoid!

Re: Delica Dealer / Importer Ratings and Feedback
We bought our Delica from FiveStar last June, with CC Auto doing the pre-sale maintenance.
I would give them both a positive rating without hesitation.
Five Star is a used car lot in Parksville. As I understand it Glen at Coombs Country Autos imports, inspects, updates and repairs the vehicles while Five Star looks after the sales, warranties etc. We dealt with Jack at Five Star and found him very easy going , friendly and helpfull without being pushy at all. I probably don't need to say much about Glen as he is already well known in the local Delica community as being extremely knowledgeable, helpful and does his best to prepare the vehicles for sale. We looked at a few different dealers on the Island and the Five Star/ CC Auto team were by far the best option for us and we have no regrets with our decision to buy from them. The after sales service has been excellent from both places, and I know we've gotten looked after in ways we would not have from some other dealers. We've had our Van for over a year now and put on about 30,000km, lots of them up and down the ski hill. For a 15 year old vehicle I would say it's been excellent. As a mechanic myself I expect a certain amount of problems to pop up. Hope this helps any prospective buyers out there. My advice would be to take your time and check out a few dealers before you buy. Trust your instincts and always road test and look over everything with a fine toothed comb. Even the best dealers can't possibly notice everything on every vehicle so in the end you have to look out for your own interest.

Hey folks!
I'm brand new to all things Delica!
It's been one day now since I bought my 90 Exceed from Dave and Dean at Japanoid.
Very nice guys and the vehicle is in great so far!
They were not pushy at all and were upfront with any shortcomings about the vehicle.
Will keep you posted in the future.
