I am posting questions and inquiries like there is no tomorrow .... but hey, there are lot's of questions....
The Jetson's/Batman noise is fixed.... CVI noticed a small leak between the intake manifold and the cylinder head... so the van sounds normal now.
One other question that I have on my mind now is: Is there a possibility to delay the downshift from overdrive? When for example driving up a slight incline at highway speed, any car would obviously slow down a bit - which the driver would counter with increased pressure on the gas.
Now in the case of my Van, even the "ever so slightest" increase on the pedal, often results in an unwanted downshift from overdrive. You kind of feel and now that the engine would have enough torque to maintain speed with a slightly more open throttle and without downshifting, but it does it anyway.
Does anybody have any tips as to how to delay the downshifting just a bit - if the pressure on the gas is obvious and you need more speed, then of course you want it to downshift, but to just keep cruising, it is, in my opinion, sometimes a bit to early...
Anyway, look forward to hearing some tips...

You have to adjust the kickdown cable (red one) going to the pump.

On the battery side of the injection pump there's a cable with a orange/red booty cover. Pull that cover off and you'll see where the cable enters a metal tube. On that cable you'll also notice a ring that if properly adjusted should align exactly with the entrance of the tube. You probably need to adjust it... That's the first thing that comes to mind anyway, just make sure everything else is sound before making any adjustment.
Anyway, just make sure you know your base setting on your kickdown adjuster before playing with it so that if it doesn't work you'll know where to put it back. It might take you a few tries to get it properly adjusted.

I found that cable needed to be loosened off a LOT before it shifted the way I wanted it to, but what a difference!
I went for a good highway drive and pulled over every few km to adjust it until I got it right... did about 100kms before I was finished adjusting...
now it only kicks down when the engine lugs down to about 2700rpm on steep hills, which is about perfect I find.

The 'correct' setting should have you shifting into OD at close to 60km/h during normal accelerator pressure (not gunning it), just so you have a reference. If it shifts much later or earlier you're probably out of adjustment, and keep in mind that too much 'lugging' of the engine will cause black smoke and coke up the engine, so be careful how much you adjust it in the other direction too.
