Air/Heating/defog fan not working
Air/Heating/defog fan not working
With the BC winter fast approaching I cranked up the Deli this morning only to find that I have no fan to defog my window. It was working yesterday!
I have checked the fuses under the drivers side and behind the glove box. I did discover one that was blown.... now my AC condenser fan is working but still no defog.
Is there another secret fuse? Or will I be spending the rest of the weekend pulling the dash off to get to the fan.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
David

Have you tried with the headlights on? Mine appears to boost the fan when it's engaged and it's possible the switch that controls this feature could be faulty. Sorry, I don't have any better advice.
Re: Air/Heating/defog fan not working
fuses only blow when a wire, switch, or motor shorts to ground. Find the source of the short before replacing a part. You may end up replacing the part again.
Front Blower
Does anyone have any idea where the front blower is located?
Do I have to remove the entire dash to get at it?
Thanks

I think you can access it behind the glove box, try that first.

Mine does this from time to time. My fix is to give the fan unit a bang with my fist and that seems to unstuck things. Not trying to be funny that is really what I do.

Re: Air/Heating/defog fan not working
I'll take another look in the morning and give it a kick:)
From what I have figured out... far left is the fresh air/recycle air intake, then behind the line fuses is the A/C, and behind the vent control is heating. Since I have the cool box I can't get a good look in the middle. I'm hoping I have missed something on the left side and the blower is between the intake and A\C. The entire system is packed in tight so I will have to start at the far left by taking out the intake.
If the fan is toast I might try to replace it with a stronger one..... not "Tim the Tool Man" strong, but a little more power wouldn't hurt.
Any thoughts?

Found the fan......
Thanks Mark,
I gave it a kick and it started up again.... I guess the fan upgrade can wait until summer.
I really would like to get a labeled diagram of what is under the dash. My Deli service manual barely mentions anything about the A\C and heating system.

That's awesome! I especially like how this major issue of a couple of days ago can now wait until much much later to fix. That is soooo Delica ownership!

One point of humor......
My wife's father worked on big diesel engines most of his career..... his first tool for every problem was a small sledge hammer....
Personally I like to figure it out and fix........ I stand corrected again......
The inlaw had a big laugh over this one...

I'm going to try the kick method with mine, which isn't working either.

No climate control diagrams there...Check this out:
delica-technical-data-sheets-292.html
seems that the climate control system is the only system in the vehicle that I haven't been able to find a manual or diagram for, I've been asking on here and on the UK forum for over a year now, and nobody has come up with anything yet...
