WVO in Parksville/Qualicum Beach area

Post by misterroboto »

I am on the island short term as a student and I am trying to secure a WVO source. I was wondering if there are any local co-ops I could join for a bit or if anyone has any tips on what resteraunts might be willing to part with some veg. I am currently getting some from a local pub in Qualicum but they dispose of the WVO into a barrel outside and I am concerned about the water content in it. I would appreciate any information! Thanks! Great to see so many Delica's out here!

Hi there,

Just ask them to put the oil directly into the cubes. No more problems with water. also, ask them to put the sludge into the barrel and then, when it is half full, clean t for them. Keeps the oil you get very clean. I also pick up in parksville. When You leave, can you give me the source?

If you are looking to filter, I've got a centrifuge setup in North nanaimo. I don't mind it used if you pitch in for elec and cleanup costs.

Thanks
