Well, I've been in the Navy for 20 years and done plenty of demanding and dangerous things in that time, and even I won't attempt to fix the half-a-non-functioning shade in the Moon Machine. It retracts fine, and I just have to give it a little tug when deploying it.
I know Glenn at ccautos has a number of whole assemblies at his shop, might be worth your while to query how much for one and shipping to Kamloops. I don't think even he has attempted repairs! Good luck.

On the subject of the fog lights, on the back side of the lower bush bar, there are two welded flanges with 10 mm nuts. Not sure what they are for, but they were very handy.
I found a piece of aluminium C-channel that is about 1" x 2" that I cut to length to fit between the uprights of the bull bar. The fog lights are mounted to the C-channel, then the C-channel is bolted to the bull bar using those existing nuts. The flange part makes for a nice flat surface so the C-channel mounts very neatly. I also used the existing wiring for the factory fog lights, so there was no wiring involved
It also means that for any serious offroading, take out two bolts, unplug the wiring, and the whole fog light assembly comes off. And goes on without losing the aim either!
Hope my description is clear. This photo shows the C-channel and the mounting points pretty well (if you know what you are looking for). The C-channel is open to the rear, with the 2" side being the vertical front, and the 1" being the horizontal at top and bottom.

Re wired the fog lights - Working now!
Pulled the rear wiper fluid SYSTEM out. Cleaned 1/2 cup (no exaggeration) of sludge out of the tub and tubes. Works now.

When I opened the compartment, I found it full of algae. They must have been using just plain water in Japan. So I used a syringe and hose to remove the liquid with lots of algae. (Disconnect filler hose from top of reservoir, syringe right into reservoir.) Filled it with hot soapy water, syringed it out, repeated.
Then it worked fine and has ever since -- except after the drive down the Dempster. 700 km of mud clogged the outlet -- quick brush-off fixed that.
I hope that's all it is. Or is the reservoir simply empty? You do know it has separate reservoir from front washers?
