Re: Old member new Delica
The VW westfalia top is not the same width/length/shape as the Delica roofline.
I have a complete westy top sitting here at the shop and did a dry test fit. It would need a major hack/glass job to fit.
The Reimo top looks to be tailored for the Delica low roof contour.
Reimo made these fiberglass tops specifically for Delica's.
I have no idea how many or if they still make them.
Just know that they converted 500 Delica's.
I'd like to get more info on them but they're so rare that it's hard to figure out when/why/where/cost/etc.... between Reimo and Mitsubishi.

Re: Old member new Delica
It came.
After the inspection, I expect to make many changes.
Sorry for the bad pic. Cell phone + dark = not so good quality.
No-name yet on the left and Granola on the right.

Alright it's here!!! The Reimo top looks pretty darn tall next to granola, can't wait for the build pics but she'll be overheight on BC Ferries for sure. Minor though.
Nothing like that fresh off the dock Delica feeling?

FOTB ?
It's a few inches higher than a stock high roof Delica. Not by much which is nice.
It's a PW25 low roof Chamonix base with the Reimo top on it.

Love the work you did on Granola - so can only imagine how good "insert name here" is going to be.
Good luck Jesse!

Selling Granola all-in with everything we've done to it.
I tallied up all the hrs/$'s we put in. Was kind of a shock

Going to copy everything we did to Granola and do the same on the camper Delica.

Re: Old member new Delica 'Turtle'
I wanted to stick with Granola camper.
Maryna didn't. A compromise was in order.
We semi-agreed on
Me: Turtle (tough as nails, dark chocolate top/caramel bottom)
Maryna: Tortoise (tough as nails, dark chocolate top/caramel bottom but elegant)
So, Turtle he is.

Re: Old member new Delica 'Turtle'
So I'm thinking about the interior now. Have lots of time to mod things.
Thinking of putting in a shower/toilet stall shell that is the height of the interior Delica but when the pop top goes up, the a short curtain slides around (like a free standing shower stall) and you can shower/nature calls inside the Delica.
Opinions on this one ?
Maryna is loving the idea.

WOW! This interior looks amazing. I'm wondering if there is enough space to store all the stuff you need for a 1 month+ trip?jfarsang wrote:So I'm thinking about the interior now. Have lots of time to mod things.

Do you have to have the shower IN the Delica? How about having a round shower curtain hanging from the open trunk door and use the shower head from inside. Use a rubber rug on the floor. As for toilet I would go with this portable small toilets, which works quite well. With this setup you could save a lot of space inside.
