Ahhh Kyoto, our delica came from the Kyoto dealership. But seriously, those Japanese maples, just gorgeous! I'd love to go on a tour of a bunch of gardens there. What a beautiful gardening tradition and aesthetic they have. Took these last month....highly recommend Kyoto, the "cultural epicentre" of Japan, but can also be over rated depending on what you are looking for. I've enjoyed the temples of Nara, the 900 year old Buddha at Kamakura, but my favorite is the old town and shrines at Ise - the only place I could see the massive old Japanese Cypress and Pine trees that used to cover Japan - a true glimpse of what Japan would have looked like 500 years ago.
