Quick Tire Question

Post by Muzzy »

Is it possible to mount a 235/75R/15 tire on to a 15x7 rim? Also if the rims have the correct offset and backspacing (3.75") will there be any need for trimming? Reasoning being that I a brand new set of Yokohama Geolanders, I must say awesome tires. I just can't justify getting rid of them for 31's just yet, but I would like to have that wider stance.
Thanks
Muzzy

I'm running 235/75R/15 on the front on 6.5 rims. My rears are 7 inch. Both 3.75 backspace. My tire guy says you can go down as far as a 6 inch.

I have no lift whatsoever - havent done my T-Bars , but did put in new shocks in the front. No trimming of anything - stock mudflaps front and rear with no touching.

I have a set of Yokohama AT-S Geolandars on the Miss Lil' Bitchi and they are sitting on the tear drop alloys that you see in the signature photo below. I think they had the Delica in mind when they designed these tyres.

Hey Falco
I've got the same setup, white walls out. I think these tires are great. That's why I can't justify getting rid of them just yet, I only bought them a few months ago and the rims I have are pretty beat up. Plus I'd like that wider stance, I don't know how much of a difference it'll make but we'll see.

I've got that size tires on the stock 15x6 rims (same rims as Falco). My tire shop says that's the largest tire that can be safely put on a 6" wide rim.
